About The Author

Enders Game, by Orson Scott Card, is a very good book.  I think that this book is very goof because of the action during the games that they play for training.  I also like how the author shows the struggles that Ender goes through because of how homesick he is.  But the best part about the book is how Card develops Ender from a homesick boy into a grown up young man that is tan and has muscles.  The kind of book Card made this was an action book that is about training to fight away the “buggers” the aliens that they are in war with.  And the whole novel is about Ender being trained to become this great commander and that he would one day conquer the buggers like Mazer Rackham, a great commander in the human army.  Orson makes this novel suspenseful because Ender just can’t be beaten at his game; so Orson bends the rules about the game and gives Ender challenges to test his strength.  That’s what makes the book interesting because I love the battle scenes.  I also love how Orson doesn't forget about Enders past and has Valentine, Enders sister; help out with problems that he goes through.  This novel is a great story and I believe that anyone would love it.  It has action, suspense, and love.  All of these add up to create a great novel.  On a scale of one to ten I would give it a nine.  As quoted on the back of the book Booklist states that "Card has taken the venerable sf concepts of a superman and interstellar war against aliens."  Booklist also goes on to say that there is "superb characterization, pacing, and language, combined them into a seamless story of compelling power."  If Booklist hadn’t already said this, that was what I would have said about the book.  I completely agree with those statements.  It is a compelling novel with great skill put into it.
